How do I install AromaLab?
Download the DMG from the homepage, open it, and drag AromaLab to your Applications folder. Double-click to launch. The app is notarized by Apple, so macOS will let it run without Gatekeeper warnings.
What's included in the free version?
The free tier includes up to 5 formulas, the full ingredient library, inventory tracking, dilution calculator, iCloud sync, and import/export. Pro unlocks unlimited formulas, AI features, IFRA compliance, batch production, business suite, and more.
How do I set up AI features?
Go to Settings → AI and enter your API key for either Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude. Both providers offer free tiers. Your key is stored securely in macOS Keychain. AI features are entirely optional.
Can I import formulas from other software?
Yes. AromaLab imports from Perfumers Vault (direct server connection), JSON files, and CSV. Use File → Import or connect to your Perfumers Vault server via Settings → Integrations.
Is my data synced to the cloud?
Only if you enable iCloud sync. Data is stored in your private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. We have no access to your iCloud data. Without iCloud enabled, everything stays local on your Mac.
How do I cancel or manage my subscription?
Open System Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions, then find AromaLab Pro. You can switch plans or cancel from there. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Does AromaLab work offline?
Yes. All core features work fully offline. Only AI features and iCloud sync require an internet connection.
How accurate is the IFRA compliance check?
AromaLab checks against all four IFRA restriction categories using data from the official IFRA library. However, it's a tool to assist your compliance — not a substitute for professional regulatory advice. Always verify against the latest IFRA standards.
